Finding Your Unique Voice
Are you overwhelmed by trying to imitate a favorite author’s style? Do you spend hours trying to make each sentence unique and original? Do you feel your writing lacks style or would please Joe Friday – “Just the facts, Ma’am?” In this workshop we will explore what makes a writer’s style unique by examining how different writers might tell the same story. We will experiment with different writing styles and tones to see what feels right for you. You will then have the opportunity to practice writing in a style and tone that you feel comfortable with. We will share our writing and talk about what makes it unique. We will also learn how your unique voice can make your story stand out.
Please come prepared to write and to share your ideas.
