Judging Criteria

To help you understand how SWW evaluates the entries received, the scoring sheet used by the reviewers is shown below.  Each element is carefully considered. Each entry can achieve a maximum of 100 points.

Every qualified entry is initially reviewed by 2 individuals who are proficient in the category of writing. Once all entries have received their initial scores, the Contest Committee reviews the highest scoring entries in each category to determine the winners.

Criteria are scored from one to ten, with one being the lowest and ten being perfect. Judges must consider a score of 7 points as average and an overall score of 70 as average.

Total Scoring:  The sum of points assigned to each criteria.
