Professional journals such as Modern Drama in Canada, Literary Sketches, Bulletin of Bibliography, and Professional Counselor Magazine in the United States, Notes & Queries in the United Kingdom, Caritas in Ireland, and Studies in English Literature in Japan have welcomed her writing.
Periodicals such as Vitality in Canada, Martial Arts Training and Natural Pet in the USA, Balance Fitness and Green Farm Natural Health in the United Kingdom, The News in the Netherlands Antilles, Golden Falcon in Bahrain, Oryx in Qatar, Star Magazine in Bangladesh, World Travel Magazine in Australia, and Healthy Options in New Zealand have given voice to her work, as well. She also was an active book reviewer for Midwest Book Review and Pathways for several years.
Davis-Kyle’s passion to write focuses on natural health and fitness of body, mind, and spirit. She also works to foster critical thinking in pre-teens, teens, and beyond teens to read widely, research deeply, and form logical conclusions about today’s world. Her writings champion not only dedicated educators, writing coaches, tutors, and home schoolers but also applaud devoted parents, grandparents, adoptive parents, and foster parents who are pinch hitting as teachers at home, in class, or online.
With her e-book Getting Teens to Write: Writing for Real Davis-Kyle highlights four successful writers who began writing on topics of great concern to them during their pre-teens. The ebook urges multitudes of young and mature researchers and writers of today, all around the world, to follow in the footsteps of these four exemplars and write about their own most serious concerns to inform society. A tiny, but mighty, portion of the ebook praises the tremendously impressive benefits that regenerative farming and ranching provide. Eliminating tilling, protecting the soil armor and its vibrant life, planting biodiverse crops, maintaining healthy cover crops, and integrating compatible livestock are a mere handful of the stellar principles that foster plant, animal, and human life. Vast numbers of writers can serve as grand stewards and write to protect the rights and freedoms of our noble farmers and ranchers globally. The ebook also reminds of the most powerful connection to life and focuses on keeping body, mind, and spirit healthy. The text overflows with writing prompts to help aspiring writers find what concerns them most so that they, too, can work their writing magic just as the four exemplary writers highlighted demonstrated with great passion.
More from Linda
I marvel at the world of wonderful short story writers, novelists, and playwrights. I appreciate their tenacity and their talent to create characters, breathe life into them, place them into unforgettable settings, and challenge their characters with untold obstacles. Whether entertaining or teaching their readers through their characters, I stand in awe of their genius. On the other hand, I am a mere writing exercise coach, editor, and tutor. Nevertheless, I love writing.

Title: Real Food for Real People: Just Say “No” to GMOs
Published: August 22, 2017 [Revised 2024]
“… fifty percent of our farm is bug-infested… the county agent says…” — Amos McCoy (Walter Brennan)
“even after … spraying … and spreading … expensive chemicals, we won’t be able to grow anything for at least three months….” Luke McCoy (Richard Crenna)
“… after we get through spraying, we’ve got to have fertilizer to condition the soil and get it back into shape.” — Luke McCoy (Richard Crenna), “Pepino McCoy.” The Real McCoys, 1957
If you are a parent, grandparent, homeschooler, or teacher, then you may like to ask your pre-teens, teens and beyond teens to compare the dilemma presented in a 1957 situation comedy with the attitudes and activities of large Ag companies of today that likewise use toxic pesticides, fungicides, herbicides, and synthetic fertilizers. With time, Big Ag’s over tills and mono-crops degrade soil biome and soil armor and leave the land exposed to erosion by wild winds and relentless rains. The fertilizer runoff pollutes streams and rivers with health-disrupting toxins.
Even the mere suggestion of taking over and discarding our honorable and knowledgeable organic and regenerative ranchers and farmers is unethical and illogical.
These dedicated generational stewards of their own farmlands, pasture lands, grasslands, and meadows are entitled fully to grow their own fine organic and regenerative crops using their own heirloom and organic seeds, and they own the right to raise their robust livestock free of any antibiotic intrusions.
Inquisitive thinkers will research not just 1.0 GMOs but also 2.0. Jeffrey Smith, bestselling author, filmmaker, and Executive Director of IRT reports that major biotech companies plan to “release new gene-edited GMOs into our food supply and environment without regulations, oversight, or labeling…” and plan to “eliminate all safety testing requirements for plants, animals, and microbes created by new genetic engineering techniques.” Be sure to watch “Seven Reasons Why Gene Editing Is Dangerous & Unpredictable.”
Make no mistake about it. Real Food for Real People: Just Say “No” to GMOs introduces profoundly qualified ranchers and farmers such as Gabe Brown, author of Dirt to Soil, and John Kempf, author of Quality Agriculture. The ebook also shares the spectacular carbon sequestering success that Jaz Brown of Brown’s Ranch reported on Earth Day, 2024, that logical thinkers, who want to help save our cherished ranchers and farmers will be over the moon to know.
The ebook also delves into the joy of being able to nourish and nurture both young and mature palates with mineral-rich, nutrient-dense organic and regeneratively raised foods straight from Mother Nature. Oh, and it also gets into how wholesome foods enhance the ability of youngsters to learn, to think critically and independently, and to gain self-reliance. The author invites you to turn your kitchen into a learning laboratory for your precious young ones. Kitchen chats and nature walks foster healthy bonding. Children need the attention of those who protect and care for them. Preparing delicious and nutritious fun recipes together can be health-giving, happy memory-making experiences.
If you are blessed to have local organic and regenerative farmers and ranchers nearby, who can sell their fine foods directly to you, then that’s great. This ebook brings the next best option to your fingertips with websites of more than 100 organic food producers and marketers many of whom can ship their wholesome foods directly to your front door. Most of the sites are in North and South America. But the author also has found for you a tiny handful of others that you can read about and work with to support each in your own local area.
Finally, Real Food for Real People: Just Say “No” to GMOs also includes playing wholesome family games, worshiping, reading, and traveling together, and knowing how to nurture and protect toddlers to teens and beyond to make every day—sunrise to sunset—joyful if we will stand together to save our noble food producers, legally and peacefully, to ensure nourishing foods from the fertile soils of our most knowledgeable and most experienced generational stewards of our precious lands.

Title: Getting Teens to Write: Writing for Real
Published: November 12, 2022
Numerous university professors lament that their students “simply cannot write.” Such words echo the sentiment of David McCullough, twice Pulitzer Prize winner and recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom. Homeschoolers and other educators who use Getting Ready to Write know of his concern that “half of the incoming freshmen at our business schools … all college graduates are now being required to take a basic course in writing because they cannot write a presentable letter or report or proposal….” He called the situation “a serious national problem.”
On a positive note, though, McCullough said, “If you can educate someone to be able to express themselves on paper or on their feet, then you have given them something that will be of infinite value not just to themselves but to the whole society … for the rest of their lives.” Helping students polish their writing skills is the worthy goal interwoven inextricably in Getting Ready to Write: Reviewing English Grammar and in its descendant Getting Teens to Write: Writing for Real.
A perpetual whirlwind of distractions globally torment many astute writers—pre-teen, teen, and those beyond their teen years. Many are becoming keenly aware that they must write to help bring some logic to this world. Consequently, more and more eager writers, who read widely, research deeply, uncover untold information, and think critically, feel compelled to write. Some feverishly write about the supreme need to hold all companies and their founders and the representatives of all industries and their entwining and far-reaching tentacles fully accountable for all claims they make for their products and their services.
When writing for real, especially when it is a matter of life or death, these fervent writers will recognize that to inform their peers and others, they must pack a powerful punch. Consequently, they will strive to use correct grammar basics, reliable parts of speech, and proper mechanics. Networks of ’tween, teen, and writers beyond their teens around the world will unite to expose the overreaching control mechanisms perpetrated upon society.
Getting Teens to Write: Writing for Real will help writers get on track and stay on task to help them exercise their right to write. Salient writing prompts include topics such as the birth of digital currency, a cashless society, implanted digital IDs, CGI imitations, deep fakes, the Stockholm syndrome, stratospheric aerosol injection, weather warfare, crop dusting, GEs, GMOs, mutual assured destruction, the interminable implementation of the Hegelian Dialectic, the disruptions to natural, wholesome food supplies, the destruction of plants in the meadows and herds in the fields, fowl in the skies, and aquatic life in the seas.
While the ebook communicates primarily with eager writers, Getting Teens to Write also urges educators, writing coaches, homeschoolers, and parents everywhere to invite each and every student to read widely, to think critically, and to write passionately to inform others emphatically. When motivated and emboldened, writers will polish their writing to share their brightest ideas and strongest solutions; and they will help society today and humanity tomorrow.

Title: Fun Foods for Kids & Grownups: Your essential guide to family fun & good health
Published: 2003 [revised 2005]
Fun Foods for Kids & Grownups introduces smart-start recipes. Toddlers and pre-schoolers are delighted with fresh Fun Fruit Natural Wonders such as the “Grapefruit and Orange Sun” and the “Pear Volcano.” Encouraging young ones to imagine adventures using recipes such as “Broccoli Steamboats” or “Veggie Sailboats” made from garden fresh vegetables will make every day a celebration of good health for families.
Recognizing the worthy goal of this book, Ira M. Sacker, MD, who specializes in helping those with eating disorders and author of the bestselling Dying to Be Thin, calls Fun Foods for Kids & Grownups “a well-written, informative, and fun-to-read book for all of us—parents, nutritionists, and families.” Likewise, Michael Janson, MD, Founder of the Center for Preventive Medicine on Cape Cod in Massachusetts, says this food book “can be your best friend” to use “in joy and in good health.”
The book is not extreme. It offers some foods that already may be family favorites. It is a step one or and easy glide book that invites youngsters, at least, to try some new fare in a new way. The adventure foods are not intended to trick or bribe. The illustrations that suggest adventures simply invite at least a nibble with the hope that children will see that healthy choices can be fun.
In addition, Linda Davis-Kyle and William Meikle, Scottish author of Operation Antarctica and more than 20 other sci-fi novels and more than 300 short stories published in 13 countries, introduce the exotic origin of the Fun Food recipes in “Adventures in Abunda Gardens.” Davis-Kyle and Meikle encourage parents and other caring adults to enjoy reading for a while with their precious youngsters each and every day. This extra component of encouraging reading very well may be the reason that—at the time of publication—George B. Kauffman, PhD, Professor of Chemistry, California State University Fresno, called this little print book “a godsend for busy, caring parents, caregivers, and others” who wish to convey to their children a healthy attitude toward good food and a healthy association with learning.
