Bio
Marie Parks’ debut novel, Unrelenting, is co-written with Jessi Honard and published by Not a Pipe Publishing. It won the 2022 New Mexico-Arizona Book Awards for best LGBTQ book and was a finalist in the categories of Fiction: Sci-Fi/Fantasy and First Book NM.
Marie was a finalist for the 2021 Futurescapes Award for Most Promising New Author for her unpublished fantasy heist, Flightless—nominated by David B. Coe. Additionally, she was a finalist for the 2020 Book Pipeline Unpublished Contest in the Sci-Fi/Fantasy category.
She runs and is a critiquer and instructor at Sandia Starforgers, Albuquerque’s only multi-day writing workshop for speculative fiction writers. She’s brought in guest instructors like Mary Robinette Kowal, Rebecca Roanhorse, Diana M. Pho (executive editor, Erewhon Books), and DongWon Song (agent, Howard Morhaim Literary Agency).
Marie lives in New Mexico with her rescue pets. She loves to hike, camp, play music, and eat green chile.
