R.M. Tembreull is a devoted husband and proud father, a combat veteran with 26 years in the U.S. Air Force, and an accomplished career professional in law enforcement, physical security, and anti-terrorism. In his travels and endeavors, he has experienced the best and worst of humankind. He’s also an avid scuba diver and outdoor enthusiast with a lifelong passion for experiencing the planet’s natural wonders. In capturing epic moments among our world’s marvels, he employs his skill as an artist and creator at every opportunity. His love of writing is only matched by his respect for nature. He has distilled the whole of himself into his literary works—the new genre of “Eco-fantasy.”

Both of my published works occur in the world of The Blighted Earth. Fractured State is my first novel of a series, which is tentatively planned for nine books. I would like to note I am both an author and an artist, and I am the illustrator for the artwork in both books.
In The Blighted Earth, I contextually reinterpret the reality of our existence on Earth; one where all living things are the children of a sentient planet. Our immortal souls are the gifts of Earth Mother, and all living beings progress through many lives within the Hierarchy of Sentience. While exploring The Blighted Earth, my greatest wish for readers is to be epically entertained while also imploring them to fully perceive and understand what afflicts our existence and hopefully promoting personal contemplation about our role as the planet’s dominant species. Together, we have the power to make real changes which will improve the lives of ALL living beings on Earth!

Within this context, sentient life occupies a hierarchy, where the highest tiers are occupied by elementals and Guardian Spirits who are responsible for preserving and maintaining the Natural Order; while those affiliated, co-opted, and corrupted by Chaos are continuously trying to disrupt, and ultimately destroy, the balance. There is no such thing as good and evil, just the continual struggle between order and chaos.
